Dreaming of a white Christmas but can't travel because of the pandemic? Build your own virtual snow world with this easy miniature winter wonderland photography tutorial. Enjoy a happy, playful and magical scenery while staying safe at home.
Materials:
- Miniature wooden Christmas ornaments
- Freezer (not the non-frost freezer)
- Finely shaved ice (if freezer is not available)
- Small flashlight
- Online photo editor such as LunaPic (snowfall effect)
How-to:
1. Look for ornaments such as wooden snowman, skater etc.
2. If using a freezer (frost generating), recreate mounds of ice resembling a snowy hill.
3. Illuminate the scenery with lighting effects using a small flashlight. You can light your scenery from the back or from the sides. Take a photo once you've achieved your desired "winter' lighting.
4. Upload photo to LunaPic and look for the snowfall effect in the Animation section.
5. Save file as GIF. Enjoy your virtual winter wonderland!
