Recipe: British Scones with Chocolate Chips
No tea party is complete without scones! Best enjoyed with jam and clotted cream, scones also taste best when mixed with an assortment of favorite flavors. Chocolate chip scones happen to be my favorite and this recipe from The Stay at Home Chef is just the perfect recipe to try.

- Pre-heat oven to 350F.
- Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl. Mix together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
- Grate cold butter using a cheese grater and mix with the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter to combine the ingredients until flour mixture reaches sand-like consistency.
- Add egg if desired. Blend in the chocolate chips until well combined.
- Lay out the dough in a clean countertop. Form into a ball and roll out the dough into 2-inch thickness and use a round cookie cutter to form round scone shapes.
- Transfer scones to ungreased baking sheet. Brush top with milk.
- Bake at 350F until golden brown.
